Frequently Asked Questions
Building your dream home comes with plenty of questions, and at Vogue Homes, we’re here to make the process clear and stress-free. Explore our most common FAQs to learn more about designing, building and living in your new luxury home in Eastern Suburbs.
The Eastern Suburbs is a well-established area with little or no vacant land within the Sydney metropolitan area. As such, if you are looking to build a new home in this area, a Knock Down and Rebuild (KDR) scenario will likely be your best option.
A KDR is a cost-effective option that removes the extended and costly hassle that can be associated with renovating an existing dwelling.
Here at Vogue Homes, we specialise in KDR. We have a dedicated team that can guide you through the entire process and help you assess if this building option is suitable for your needs. You can find out more about our KDR process right here.
Whichever way you look at it, the Eastern Suburbs is a must-build location.
From an investment perspective, the Eastern Suburbs is Sydney’s most premium and desirable property market, representing an excellent opportunity to maximise your investment in a new home. Unlike some other areas of Sydney, the area is not prone to natural disasters such as bushfires and floods.
The area also has great connectivity and education prospects. The new light rail connection provides connectivity to Sydney’s CBD in 20-30 minutes. There are countless quality public primary and secondary schools, plus Sydney’s #1 & #2 Universities (UNSW & Sydney University) are both only a short distance away.
Finally, from an ambience perspective, the area has a much cooler climate compared to other areas of Sydney; it’s always 5 degrees cooler than Western Sydney, so it’s an easier climate to live in, and what can you say about the beaches, you have some of the best beaches in all of Sydney right at your doorstep.
Building in the Eastern Suburbs, what’s not to like.
When building your dream home, you need an experienced builder to help navigate through some of the potential challenges of building in a particular area, and also someone who has the familiarity of working with the relative councils in the appropriate jurisdiction.
Vogues Homes has the runs on the board for building quality homes in the Eastern Suburbs.
We have the valuable experience of working with and adapting to obstacles that are common to the area, including large trees, sloping blocks, narrow blocks and site access issues.
It’s not a widely known fact, but some builders will charge a premium to build in the Eastern Suburbs as their workers do not live in the area, and building suppliers are not situated locally. Vogue Homes takes a different approach; we have a long-established building supplier’s network who are locally in the Eastern Suburbs.
We also have a long-standing working relationship with the Waverly Council, and know exactly how to avoid many of the common pitfalls that affect other builders who are not familiar with the area.
Yes, we do. With over 38 years of experience, Vogue Homes specialises in architect-designed and managed builds. Our team understands the complexity of custom designs and delivers every project with precision, efficiency and attention to detail on time and within budget.
We believe quality should come standard. That’s why Vogue Homes offers premium inclusions that make your house feel like a home without the hidden upgrade costs. You’ll also have the flexibility to personalise designs and finishes to suit your lifestyle.
Build times vary depending on size, design and complexity, but most custom homes take around 8–10 months once construction begins. After your planning and approvals are complete, we’ll provide a clear timeline and keep you informed every step of the way.
